In a late night post on X after attending the cultural performance themed on Mahabharata at the Purana Qila, Jaishankar said cultural rebalancing demands that India projects its heritage, civilisation and way of life, and asserted that a "rising Bharat" must understand "where we came from to know where we are going".

Brent crude fell 17 cents, or 0.2%, to $86.83 a barrel by 0017 GMT after rising 2.4% last week. U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude was at $83.06 a barrel, down 11 cents, or 0.1%, following a 3.2% gain last week.

The official manufacturing purchasing managers index rose to 50.8 from 49.1 in February, the National Bureau of Statistics said in a statement Sunday. That beat the median forecast of 50.1 by economists in a Bloomberg survey and was the best reading since March last year.

The final au Jibun Bank Japan manufacturing purchasing managers#39; index (PMI) was at 48.2 in March, the highest level since November. That matched the flash reading and was better than February#39;s 47.2, which marked the fastest pace of contraction in over 3-1/2 years.
